Whisper 04:08
From this dream I can feel there is something ahead And I know there is light and it flows from the dead But the soul is a wild and wavering bird She goes where she likes and her whispering voice can be heard It’s the end of your time, where you don’t have to know That God is a great and beautiful ship that will carry you home But your soul is a wild and wonderful thing She goes where she likes and her whispering heart wants to sing When you get to the place which is where you belong And you know that it’s right because it’s where you came from But your soul is still a wild and wandering wind She goes where she likes and her whispering words come from within With this heart I can feel I’ve been living all wrong And the darkness was hard but it’s almost all gone And my soul is a wild, wide ocean of peace It goes where it likes and it’s whispering tide is released

Drum 02:48
To Mahadeva, Hari Om Stars are white Against the blue Hours pass (they always do) Birds will come And rest with me The river gives its energy The ring is bright Where the dancer plays A single drum to mark my days Wild white And careless blue The years pass I don’t think of you Still you come And rest in me Sorrows fading endlessly The ring is bright Where the dancer plays A single drum to mark my days

Passage 03:48
Within you something waits. Below the skin beneath your bones, The everlasting gates. The passage through your space; You’re given time to understand This beauty hides it face... ...somehow. Above you only clouds. Before you, all the people hope You’ll love them anyhow And in the ocean brave You swim across the open water Fighting every wave... ...somehow. In my heart I’m true. I’ve been searching everywhere And never finding you So will you come to me? Now I’ve honoured stillness and I’m begging to be free… ...somehow.

Hold 03:12
Through waking find your heart You feel it’s not alone Can you hear him call your name? Maybe his ship is coming home Maybe his ship is coming home And it’s just like letting go When you feel like holding on He visits like the sun Shining out on everything You feel him on your skin Maybe your heart is listening Maybe your heart is listening And it’s easy letting go When you feel like holding on It’s nothing like I thought It is covering my life Take the bandage from my eyes Maybe I’m living in your light Maybe I’m living in your light And it’s only letting go When you feel like holding on

Shape 03:42
I was a question forming slow and deep Also the mountain and the thread from your sleeve I was a starling caught in murmerration A shimmering ribbon trailing in your sky You were an open eye on the horizon Also the light that covers everything You were an ocean bearing all the sorrow Drowning a memory with every tide I am wondering where you go Can I follow? I am wavering, scared to know Does every shape have a shadow? There is a sea cave you hide yourself inside There among shorebirds buried all my life I was a child caught in this creation Finding a way to be simple and wise

Hand 04:20
I searched for you In a lonely place Where you took your time And you hid your face And you let me wait So I understand That I’m ready now For your loving hand There’s a distant sun And it’s setting fast It’s a golden light But it never lasts And it’s taught me how To give up my plans So I’m ready now For your loving hand I’ve been waiting here Even though it’s hard To want you close But to know you’re far But I’d wait again So you understand That I’m ready now For your loving hand

about

The Upanishads mention the phenomenon of darshan, describing it as an encounter with God; a vision, a visitation. It is also understood to be a reciprocal experience; you too are seen. There is a fragility and transience to darshan which resembles a dream, a fever, a hallucination. Darshan is total presence and communion with Spirit.

All of this I wished to explore in these songs; simplicity and transparency, honesty and vulnerability, magic and spirituality. And God. Whomever that is for you.

As always, from the bottom of my grateful heart, thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy these songs xxx
